Usually held every second Saturday of each month, the Gillespie-Senter Memorial Community Breakfast has been a project of the First Unitarian Universalist Church Social Justice Committee since May 1983.

The May 2018 Gillespie-Senter Memorial Community Breakfast meeting focuses upon the impact of gentrification and short-term rental housing effectively pricing-out many long-term residents from New Orleans. Lydia Nichols is the new Public Programs Coordinator for the Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative (JPNSI), which recently released an investigative report entitled Short Term Rentals, Long Term Impacts: The Corrosion of Housing Access and Affordability in New Orleans. Please join us to discuss this significant trend and share your experience (and how we might confront its negative consequences).
